As I promised I am posting about the meeting we had yesterday at work. First off it only took one hour, thankfully. The most important part is that our department is not laying off anyone at this point. We are making other huge cuts, such as in travel or if someone leaves they will not be filling their position. One of the craziest things I did hear is that we will not be getting our raises for 2008 until April of 2009, but we will be getting our bonuses. Now all of this dependent upon the economy. If the economy still is in a downward swing after the first of the year then all of this maybe revisited where we could not get raises at all and more people maybe laid off. For now, I am safe.

I keep forgetting that I get this Friday off for half a day. Yay!! Today at work, I have a three hour meeting with a company that is coming into town. I am not looking forward to sitting in a room for three hours with them, but its what I need to do. At least with this visit we won’t have to think about doing it for another three months.

This weekend is going to be school filled. I have two final projects to work on and I haven’t even started. I know in one class we do not have a discussion board to do, but the other class we have the project and a discussion to do. But this is the sign of end of the term. Shortly after the beginning of December my third term will start. I can’t believe that its been almost six months that I have been in school. I am really enjoying it, I just wish that it would move a little quicker.
